An introduction to essential skills in studio photography, camera handling, lighting and camera set-up, principles of lighting and theory, studio management and associated health, safety and risk assessment. This module should provide the framework for future studio based photographic work and assignments.

Canon and Nikon

We were shown two of the DSLR's that the university have available for students, the canon 550D and the nikon D90. Canon and Nikon are the two biggest brands in the DSLR market, I have used both frequently but prefer Nikon cameras as I have used them longer and feel more comfortable with the layout of the menu and buttons. I think they both have advantages and disadvantages but at the end of the day they both do the same job and do it well.
