For the depth of field assignment I took a few photos of some glasses and mugs to demonstrate how different apertures affect an image. I think using a large aperture is useful if you want to isolate/focus on a subject as it keeps the subject sharp and blurs out everything else. A small dof could be used if I wanted to get a whole scene in focus or if I wanted to get a group of subjects all sharp and in focu
I prefer to use large apertures as I really like the softness and bokeh it creates on the rest of the images. However large apertures like f/1.8 aren't as sharp as slightly smaller apertures like f/8 and f11.
